Bill had effectively 'expelled' 239 members by removing their details from the WMW database in what I see as a misguided attempted to try and comply with the ‘General Data Protection Regulations’ although by continuing to store anything at all I suspect he may still have been in breach of them and had even lost the defence of “Sorry guv, I didn’t realise”.
Bizarrely, he didn’t similarly remove some or all of them from the forum membership list ! No doubt he felt that as that doesn't show any contact details apart from an email address it wouldn't be a GDPR breach. Whilst his understanding of the Regulations may be better than mine, I feel he may have been mistaken.
At some point in the future, I hope to publish a list of those affected so that any other member in touch with them can alert them to the problem and advise them to contact me.
